The map doesn't show state tax rates. Example Florida has no State Income tax, Massachusetts you'll be paying $2,581.00 on $55,000. Mass also has one of the highest state gasoline taxes. The Mass Pike has been paid a 100 times over but we keep paying the high tolls. It's one of only two states that require a $50.00 an hour cop instead of a flag man at all construction sites, compliments of the construction company. The sales tax, implemented in the early 60's, was supposed to be temporary. We are still wondering when it will end. we pay a yearly excise tax on our automobiles, this on top of a sales tax. the governor (RINO) is trying to push thru a 40% per gallon gasoline fee on top of the per gallon tax. Highest tobacco taxes, meals taxes, liquor taxes.
The state nickname is Taxachusetts.
