Trump has a right to have people that are trying to help him achieve his goals working for him instead of people that are actively opposing him and trying to run him out of town. Rosenstein should definitely be fired, but since there are political considerations he should probably wait until it makes sense.
Schumer has given the president sound advise on occasion. They may have a long relationship going back to NY. So it's not impossible that he occasionally isn't full of crap and trying to gain an advantage for the democrats. They might be friends despite differing politics.
