I've often thought that Sessions may have been a plant to begin with. The 'Deep State' deal (just perchance that he is elected): gain his confidence, get appointed, recuse yourself...we'll take it from there...and, apparently, they have. Either that, or Trump and Sessions have devised a plan of their own. I don't see anything in-between.
