I suspect trainers are seeing the examples we've seen of horses jumping up and winning big distance races off very abbreviated careers and assuming that this is the way to go with any valuable intact male horse.
The problem is that whatever you want to say about Arrogate or Justify or Flightline or anyone else, the basics of training a racehorse have not been repealed. A lot of horses need to be raced into condition and taken step by step.
