...Evangelical Christians overwhelmingly support President Donald Trump because they believe he'll cause the world to end.
Many have questioned why devout evangelicals support Trump, a man who has bragged about sexual assault, lies perpetually and once admitted he never asks God for forgiveness. Trump’s lack of knowledge of the Bible is also well-known.
Nevertheless, many evangelical Christians believe that Trump was chosen by God to usher in a new era, a part of history called the “end times.” Beliefs about this time period differ, but it is broadly considered the end of the world, the time when Jesus returns to Earth and judges all people.

Reminds my of Islamic fanatics. Guess a fanatic by any other name is still a fanatic.
According to fringe Islamic eschatology, "the Day of Judgment" is when the annihilation of all life will be followed by its resurrection and judgment by God.

Whether Trump specifically has been chosen by God to facilitate the arrival of the end of the age is debatable; however, Evangelicals are on solid biblical footing for believing that God will choose someone to accomplish his purposes. Scripture tells us that God chose the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar (and even called him his "servant") to bring judgment upon the southern kingdom of Judah.
God also chose the Persian king Cyrus (calling him his "shepherd" even though Cyrus never acknowledged God) to free the Jews from their Babylonian-imposed exile and send them back to their homeland to rebuild their temple.
God also used Rome to bring judgment upon Israel in 70 A.D., thus fulfilling Jesus' prophecy about when the end of the Jewish age would occur.
Nothing fanatical here, for such is the nature of theism.
