The Ag - one off a layoff Sunday's 5th at SPA
First thanks to those that offered their views on the poll I posted regarding tightners...the 5th at Saratoga Sunday is an illustration of one of these situations that leave me somewhat baffled.
These are special weight grass maidens 1 1/16m and a lot of them have not graduated after many tries, so not a stellar field...the favorite Love for a Price looks pretty good having run a closing 2nd after being steadied..she has only 3 tries, a plus, but has the problem of having lost to maiden claimers two back, albeit in her seasonal bow...she also may have needed her last after a two month break.
The horse which I don't know what to do with is The Ag...she has burned up money as the favorite on 3 occassions, while going 0-6, but she fits okay here and I wonder if she's a play to beat the favorite...in last, she was rank and finished 5th and now has to stretch out after fading from the lead...does the fact that it was her first start of the year make her a candidate to improve and be a reasonable win threat? Her best race was at 1 1/8, so in the past she didn't mind added ground...she has worked 3 times since running last month and takes blinkers off.
Opinions on her?
