Itis not only demographics. The last election showed several GOP weakness. Some of their ideas are out of touch with a lot of Americans. They also ran some very bad candidates. Their presidential candidate was one term governor who lost his home state in a landslide. What that tell you. They had a couple of senate candidates that some funny(to say the least) about rape. To win the Republican party needs to come up with better candidates. Then they need to get in touch with in touch with a larger group of America. Running a token minority with ideas that he does not share with his ethnic group anymore won't work anymore. As a democrat, I hope the republicans continue on the course they are on. I love it every time somebody like Sarah Palin appears on TV. They turn more independents to democratic voters than anything the democratic party could possibly do.
In the weak economy that we have now for the GOP not lose the presidency but senate and house seats is amazing. This should have been a GOP landside. (I guess people still remember the last GOP president and the shape he left the country in.) If they couldn't win in 2012, what chance do they have in 2016 when the economy will be in a lot better shape.
The good thing for us democrats, the GOP doesn't seemed to learned a thing. I still have word from them about people who draw a pay check. They only talk to the bosses. There are a lot more employees than bosses. Until the republicans figure that out, they will keep losing elections. The birth control pills being covered by insurance showed that. Romney and the GOP took the side of a few bosses and Obama and democrats took the side of the female employess. Who do you think got more votes from that issue?
