R8 Del Mar G2 Del Mar Mile 8/19/18

Tough to surpass the romp of Accelerate yesterday, but we'll try.

Catapult: Doesn't run many bad races and won at this venue at an 1/8th longer while being 21/1. Tough horse to knock other than he is usually overbet. If he can repeat his last, he'll be tough to beat.

What a View: Really nice horse that has won a lot of races (8 for 26). Has even won a Graded Stakes race. Will be forwardly placed, but not sure he can fend off this group.

True Valour: Was absolutely no match for others in here in his American turf debut. Trainer change, jock change. Still hard to back after the last.

Sharp Samurai: Little doubt this one will get bet. Runs a lot of good numbers and is always in the mix. This is the likely post time favorite,a nd has to be greatly considered on any wager.

Le Ken: Hasn't won a race in the last two years, and is stepping up in class. Should be a deserved doubled digit plus odds.

Bowies Hero: Gotta love these quietly getting better, and cashing checks kind of horses. He is never at the tip of the tongue of anybody talking about turf horses, but this guy is legit. He can run with these, and if overlaid at an expected price of 13/1 or more, he has to be strongly considered.

Caribou Club: 10 for 13 hitting the board, and we get Mike Smith in the irons. Not sold this guy is ready for this group.

B Squared: His career best "number" wasn't good enough last out. As a 4YO I'd like to think he can get better, but he has already ran 8 times this year. His absolute best simply isn't good enough in here.

Fly to Mars: Exact opposite of B Squared. This is a horse that is improving as a 4YO and may not have met his ceiling. Off of back to back wins, and stepping up in class, he'll be a decent price. He has to be considered.

Om: He is pretty much a turf miler, and has banked over a $1 Million doing as much. He'll be forwardly placed, but the wiley old vet is likely up against it in here.

Big Score: Second race as a 4YO, and the improvement could be off the charts crazy. Could be a big price, and one that I would largely consider in every ticket offered.

Next Shares: He'll be coming late. While he is a good horse, he has a history of not beating anybody in here.

Hunt: Hard to make a comment other than I just don't like him this race. This guy likes to win, or not even be in the mix. When he wins, the numbers aren't all that great. There are many much better in here.
