I guess what I hadn't realized was that despite his amazing breeding -- just have a look at it as there is an alphabet soup of dosage letters including sire, both "grand" sires and all 4 "great grand' sires -- his DI was actually a bit on the high side at 3.67. I guess I just figured he would be high1/low 2 and that is why RR's 4+ surprised me.
