He died a little over 30 years ago, but my first favorite thoroughbred to bet on was Flying Paster. I am sure I lost money on him because I had him to win every time he faced Spectacular Bid. With a bankroll of $50-$100 a day I could not be betting 1-5 shots. California had a very small wagering menu compared to the east coast.
