I watched about 6 races races yesterday at Cal Racing. The three from this year all started around 3 lengths before the 5/8 pole, 2 of the 3 last year started like that, but one started around 4 and a half lengths before the pole.
Unfortunately, the teletimer doesn't show up, so I have no way of knowing when it begins. I may have to find a stop watch to investigate this further.
