I'd say some people (myself among them) would say the 3yos are likely to get better over time (especially Taiba & Epicenter) and close the gap a bit. It's more likely we've seen the best of the older horses by now. Naturally, it looks like a big leap for the 3yos to get where Flightline is in just a little over a month, but if you can make a case that Flighline won't repeat his Pacific Classic and could take pressure from LIG, it stops looking impossible to get close.
I don't hate LIG as much as my Twitter feed. I'm trying to convince myself he can still have a big impact on this race despite yesterday's effort.
