If a jury has 12 members not counting alternates, and if said jury HAD to have a number of black members equal to the black percentage of the US population:
Doing some quick math I get 1.6 jurors calculated as follows:
1.6 = 0.134 x 12
That said, if I were an attorney for the defense or prosecution - and if I were trying to cherry pick jurors during voir dire:
I would be much more interested in the backgrounds and belief systems of the jurors themselves than their race.
