Gibson was a great competitor and one tough guy. Saw him pitch many times and he wrecked havoc in NY that's for sure. Mucho respect. I remember that 1964 series with the Yankees. In the 7th game he gave up a 3 run homer to the Mick and then Boyer and Linz homered off him in the 9th but he stayed in there and toughed it out and pitched a complete game. If I had a game on the line and needed a right handed pitcher Gibson gets the call from me.
