Apparently, they have different screens on ranking horses and also include detailed past performances or race cards on all races which I found to be a reliable source for handicapping foreign races and possibly to use for handicapping the overseas horses shipping into the Breeders Cup!
Below is what Racing Post kinda does with their Postdata for their cards to rank horses based on Ability Form Track Distance etc the example is from R1 today from Happy Valley

Race 2 on the Statistics page here showed Lucky Diamond being +20 ranked over the entire field plus he was showing a very strong front running ability which he could go all the way today
He went gate to wire and went off at 14-1 to win easily
