It is clear from this thread and many other sources that the term "globalism" has devolved into a meaningless word.

In economics, globalism means making business decisions that transcend national boundaries. It has zero to do with the system of government.
The opposite is nationalism, making business decisions based on some criteria as to what is in the "best interests" of the country. That criteria is generally determined by politics, not by economics or the reality of the market.
