Something I started doing one day...just for the hell of it--was clicking 2.5 at whatever track I'm getting ready to handicap--and just start sorting every column---one by one.
You'll begin to notice some of the same horses are all over--and sometimes they are 6 to 1......8 to 1.....or even higher.
It kind of gives you a "feel" for the track and who's running, who's "important" and who could upset.
This is what Belmont looks like:
TOP POWER--KATHRYN THE WISE 4-1
TOP E-1- KATHRYN THE WISE
TOP E-2--BY THE MOON 3-1
TOP LATE-QUEZON 6-1
TOP T/J - KATHRYN THE WISE--OFF LIMITS
TOP QSP- BUSTIN IT 2-1
TOP BRIS-QUEZON
TOP PRIME POWER-BY THE MOON
TOP TURF BLAST--FLY BY 15-1
TOP SPEED BLAST--KATHRYN THE WISE
TOP EARLY POWER--QUEZON
TOP LATE POWER--QUEZON
TOP LAST 3 SPEEDS--QUEZON
TOP EPS%--CARRUMBA 8-1
TOP ABILITY--FLY BY
-Other horses near the top of more than one category:
VIGOR 5-1
GIOIA STELLA 5-2
JOUST 6-1
ANYDAYISMYDAY 30-1
Okay--to complete your handicapping...here is the TIP SHEET for Belmont today. Study it awhile...I think you'll find you have a much better "feel" for the races. This is one way PLATINUM & EXOTIC BETS are useful tools when used together.
You can now break out the pick-9 cards...and you'll be able to intelligently make win and exotic bets.
Good Luck
