Timing is everything ... in sports and in real life ... so, is Auburn really, really the best team in country, having beaten both Alabama and Georgia?
Seriously though, Gus Malzahn of Auburn must be kicking himself these past few weeks.
Means nothing, of course, since Alabama is the deserving National Champion. The CFP playoff games eliminated all the old 'mythical' National Champions talk that I read 1000s of times as a kid.
But I will say Auburn has a much better argument --empty as it may be-- than the idiot AD at Central Florida who claimed his UCF Knights are No. 1.
