Yes ... bad calls, especially the face mask penalty. I also saw the ref was right there too! I stopped taking notes on all the bad calls and non-calls. I was getting too pissed off to enjoy the game.
Sports has become a too-big-to-fail business also. NFL-MLB-NCAA and their incestuous vulgar big bucks relationships with big media such as the networks and cable giants has taken all the fun and sporting spirit out of the games.
Refs and umpires are also scared shit-less now to take a stand and make a call. High def cameras have turned excellent plays --tough catches and good efforts by receivers-- into incomplete passes because the pinky and index fingers moved a 1000th of an inch. Silly example, I admit, but,
do we really need a time out to review a play all the freaking time now?
