My wife and I were just talking this morning about the insanity of flying. My wife honed in on one particular aspect due to many pictures she has seen online. The aspect is
social distancing. In the airport, we see very long lines of people because everyone is required to stand at least 6' apart in line at the ticket counters. Yet, only in hours or even minutes later, many of those same people are then packed like sardines into an airplane. How come? Is this rule in place because the powers to be know that this is a very smart virus, and it knows when to attack people and when not to? Once people are inside a plane, the virus cuts everyone some slack even though they're not social distancing?
And this social distancing aspect becomes even more ludicrous given a former FDA commissioner's confession that there is zero science behind the 6' rule for social distancing. (I posted the story in the "Science" thread earlier today.) ZERO science!
Or what about the Hollywood Elite Nitwits at the Emmys -- at least 98% of whom are most likely bleeding heart libs? They get to break LA County mask mandates for large public indoor gatherings and attend their awards ceremony without face diapers. How can this be? Well, they say that they were in a hermetically sealed tent, so they considered themselves to be
outdoors. (In other words, they must have identified as being outdoors.
) Well then if that is the case, why do airlines require passengers to mask up, since their cabin doors have hermetic seals on them!?
Of course, the cabins inside a plane are aren't hermetically sealed environments and rely on fresh and recirculated air for everyone to breathe. And the recirculated air gets filtered with medical grade HEPA filters, which supposedly filters out 99.97% of airborne particles. So, one must wonder why all the fear porn about masking up inside a plane?
In either case -- with flying or with the Hollywood Nitwits -- one would think that since we're dealing with such a
deadly virus, that is destroying civilization as we know it, no one would want to congregate in any closed, crowded spaces.
