The EU has this morning agreed in principal to an Brexit extension until 31 January unless agreement in the UK parliament to the withdrawal bill allows us to leave earlier. This means it is almost certain we won't leave this Thursday as Boris Johnson promised time and time again. He said we will leave whatever on Thursday do or die and he would rather 'die in a ditch' than we don't leave on Thursday.
Today Johnson is tabling a motion for a general election on December 12th although the Liberal Democrats and Scottish Nationalists are putting in a counter motion to have it on December 9th. Those few days are important. It is not clear how the opposition Labour party will vote and if they will support an election on either date or at all.
