Last race watch list horses:
Race 3 Pakistan Star (4-5): Had been away from the races since he stopped abruptly on the backside in last year’s Premier Plate. Drew the rail and was very slow out of the gate when he took a nice leap when they opened, then was forced to chase the eventual winner Time Warp (126), in the stretch he looked raring to go but Purton on the winner didn’t leave any room in on the rail for him to get thru so Chadwick had to wait while being trapped with Werther (126) getting the jump on him on the run to Time Warp on his outside. Moved outside at the 150 mark but was unable to make the close at the wire while racing in between Werther and Seasons Bloom (126), should improve off that effort as long as he doesn’t go crazy again and stop running.
Race 5 Seventy Seventy (4-1): Was bet down as the 2-1 favourite in a pretty tough Class 4 going 1,200 metres with the services of Purton om board. Raced 5 lengths off the leader Lucky Lucky who was setting a quick first fraction, he was full of run entering the stretch while being herded down on the rail, he became rank for an extended period of time while Purton was trying to find some running room. He quickly accelerated when Purton was able to straighten him up but was outrun to the wire by a more experienced runner, he did tire in the last 50 metres switching back off his proper lead, should improve off this effort.
