They first scanned for those emails to or from Hillary. Easily done by mertadata.

Those that fit that bill were then scanned for duplicates, comparing the new emails with the old ones already complied into a database doing a multi-word match routine using existing programs.....

Turned out the vast majority of emails Hillary either sent or received already existed and in fact were DUPLICATES.

Those that remained were then manually examined by a team of FBI agents. So the assumption that over 600k emails had to be read by hand was typical Chump bluster.
