Sure, but AP ran the first 6 furlongs in the Belmont in 1:13 and change, and then didn't slow down and ran the last 6 furlongs in 1:13 and change, for a very fast 2:26 and something final time.
That's actually really impressive despite the lone F trip. IWC didn't do anything like that.
