Closest I ever got to Hialeah was in the 70’s when mom & dad went there and left me and sister at the motel pool for the afternoon. I was 14, had 1 of dad’s beers that day and passed out in the room. Still remember that trip (Spring break ‘77) when the a.m. radio played Hall & Oates ‘Rich Girl’ 6x per hour. Never ever made it to Hialeah myself.
