Well, I hope this turns out to be premature, but it looks very bad.
Shades of Sugar, a speedy 3yo filly by Big Brown just broke down in an allowance at Finger Lakes against males. She was up front contesting the pace then dropped back abruptly early in the stretch. In the head-on replay, I saw her slow to a crawl and finally break down in her front, going to the ground. Sickening.
I hope they can save her, but I'm anything but optimisic.
