He gave a reason why one could think the race might not be quite as good as it came up while conceding that it was subjective and it was up to you to take a stand one way or the other. That's about as professional and gentle of an analysis as you are going to see. I thought he did a very good job with that post race analysis.

Beyer gets a lot of flack when he breaks a race out. In this case, I'm guessing he did not. I actually did for a few reasons (last dirt race with turf races on both sides, top two would have been 130+, fast pace, etc), but it wasn't an easy decision.
