Baseball Annual salary 1990s-2010s: Between $3 million to $33 million
Baseball Annual salary now: Low as $900k to $38 million
All in it for the money for this era no matter where you are playing as long as you have a nice contract that's all that matters now
Have seen my local club (Blue Jays) sign great players throughout the year and the worst thing about is that these players are wanting big named contracts in order to stay with the team
For example, Robbie Ray signed a 1 year $8 million contract with the Blue Jays last year and went on to win the Cy Young Award for us; now we tried to give him a 1 year $18.4 million extension but he declined it and went to Seattle for a 5 year $115 million dollar contract ($23 million per year)
Sorry Robbie I guess we should have given you 4.6 million more (18.4+4.6= 23) in order for you to stay another year
