Makes you wonder if post positions should ever have that kind of impact.
Tracks should schedule races at distances that don't create this sort of thing. But horsemen, for the most part, bring it on themselves. They run ridiculous 1m 1/16 races at Laurel which start almost on the turn because trainers don't want to run 9f.
