I've never seen those machines and am not sure I understand how they work.
I don't understand why they are appealing. I say that not as someone that handicaps races trying to find an edge. But if you like betting on horse races, why not just bet on the real thing instead of some historical race where you have no insights at all. If you at least know the name of a few of the jockeys and trainers that's more fun than a machine where you know nothing.
There must be something to the rapid action on those machines as opposed to waiting for the next live race that's appealing??? There's something to be learned by this for scheduling simulcast races.
