Basically he wouldn't be able to make any money as long as the SC's investigation was ongoing.
That's why he didn't take the plea deal... he'd be broke.
This isn't some crazy conspiracy theory either... its actually written in his defense team's legal filings rejecting the plea.

This whole circus is a chinese fire drill...whoops that's politically incorrect...I will say tho...it often takes someone to get dirty to take down some who is dirty...that said...perhaps they CAN ALL end up in the SAME cell block...
