The sentiment of militarism is here as in the red block...while we don’t have big brass parades yet, often at any large sporting event it is not uncommon for jets to buzz the venue in a show of patriotic strength...it is meant to impress, the same motive of the red block parades essentially....
only in the red bloc zones, I get the feeling that “the people” deeply mistrust the military, and rightly so as communism was/ is the most despicable, miserable political system known to mankind...
the militaristic spirit is muted here in the US but once the alarm goes out and the rightness of our cause is broadcast, the people roar up and support the troops, and usually the chief. Will be interesting to see the public reaction to so-called “democratic interventions” that seem to always “pop-up” regardless of who is in power.
