I believe the majority of players qualified through Horse Tourneys/Horse Players in either a one or two step process.
I qualified thru Remington Park and sat at a table with Dale Day, Remington announcer. Great guy, lots of fun.
Karl Broberg was at the table in front of ours. I think he had a few horses racing at different tracks and therefore was not able to use those races as plays. Good rule.
I was in contention to make the cut (top 10%) and even had four bullets saved for the last 4 races on Saturday in case I was close.
I choked.......but as my beloved Dodgers used to always say, "just wait til next year."
