I had the same problem... and it only happened with my old Acer laptop as well.
I tried a bunch of things, such as reinstalling my operating system, buying another mouse, and even d-loading Bleach Bit. Hell, it it could keep Hillary out of prison, why not ?? If Bleach Bit was good for one mouse why not my mouse too??
Bottom line, they all worked, but only temporarily.
Now, I must ask if you ever have the computer on and spend a lot of time on sites such as You Tube? I traced my cursor mouse problem to the times I was on YT for hours and hours, especially the few times I nodded off watching old horse racing shows.
I believe sites like YT or popular stops like Drudge are the villains. IMO. Try to upgrade/update your browser to the most current one for your operating system.
