Gonna presume Diamond Blitz is scratched since he worked at Santa Anita this morning.
Not a win contender but there was a lot of front-running speed lined up and he was a bit of a run-off type so anyone projecting a pace meltdown might wanna have a rethink.
Now a little more cat-and-mouse will be involved on the front end. Mucho Gusto has sprint speed and drew the rail, but his KY Derby prospects probably rest on his ability to relax in the first part of the race as he did last out.
Anothertwistafate has been controlling modest paces and breaking races open on the Tapeta, but showed decent speed in his sprint debut on dirt at Santa Anita so could lap onto Mucho Gusto from the outset.
Meanwhile, Hustle Up appears to have :44+ type speed and so trumps them all from that standpoint, but his weakest efforts have been when he's had to face early pressure. He probably benefits the most from Diamond Blitz's absence, as now he can clear from the outset and make them come catch him.
Mucho Gusto and Anothertwistafate have a ~$400K payday and a ticket to Churchill Downs riding on who's gonna tackle Hustle Up first when that one possibly has a bit left in the tank.
