I already know the answer, of course, they do!
How does this still continue to happen in a civilized society? I am guessing it must be a force of nature, like ants following ants, and rats following rats.
Sadly, most everyone reading this will never be an elite handicapper, but don't be upset about this fact. The very greatest handicappers on the planet cannot make a decent living betting on horses.
The tracks already know this, so they offer contests and tournaments to reward these poor bastards in some small way for their incredible ability to pick winners, but never actually make a living wage.
You see, eventually if you stick with the greatest sport on earth for decades like many of us do, you may realize this fact for yourself.
The thing about handicapping is that it is like a poisoned drinking well. Most poor bastards keep drinking from the poisoned well because they get a reward from time to time. These small rewards do not, however, make long-term profits.
The handicappers that manage to win a few bucks, then tell their friends. At this point in time, the handicapping pays "big dividends" facade and myth continues into evermore
My entire working living since 1993, my paid for home in Pennslyvania, and paid for home in Florida, is thanks to the folks that continue to handicap. I am grateful but feel guilty. Perhaps that's why I sometimes spill my guts here.
Chat soon my friends, kind regards.
God Bless America and the poor downtrodden Handicappers!
