OMG, you are so misinformed...never rely on just hearsay: Runhappy was managed just fine, even under later proven-to-be horse (not Runhappy) abuser Maria Borell; that is, until his inept sister-trainer, Laura Wohlers, took over after he fired Borell. The horse never performed to his full potential after that.
As well, yes, McIngvale does have a good reputation as a philanthropist and helping out where needed. For example, he has opened his furniture store on several occasions, I believe, offering shelter and free food to anyone in need, after major storms hit Texas.
McIngvale is by far not a conventional horse owner, but he is not the villain that he was made out to be where Borell is concerned.
