Oh, I don't know...because a lot of people GET THE DAY OFF and might want to BET ON SOME RACES?

They used to run on MLK day if I'm not mistaken back in the day.
GP in particular hardly ever runs on a Monday holiday any longer, no matter the holiday... |
Laurel did run on MLk day years ago.
Back then there were actually people in the grandstand.
