Agreed about the Trakus info. Not sure what can develop there but instead of having a note say, "wide both turns, bumped in stretch" without any quantification, it would be nice to know how much distance it cost the horse. Losing by a length and having traveled 40 or more feet kinda puts a different light on such a past performance. Also, being able to see velocity differentials at the various calls, might help define what "blocked, steadied" really means in terms of distance.
I am sure there is a lot more that can be developed from their info. Here's hoping that Equibase and Trakus get together, combine data and actually help the handicapper come to better decisions.
