LOL - nice story.

They imply race-fixing somehow when the runners were 1-2-3-4 in wagering order.

Of rider Singh, they write "...has not set foot in a stirrup at Assiniboia since that filly’s audacious comeback win".

When in fact he had 3 mounts at AsD after that.

Singh has been riding in Louisiana this month, where he rode decades ago.

Singh has been riding for more than 40 years and he competed at places like Ak-Sar-Ben, Birmingham, Waterford Park and Bandera Downs to name a tiny few.

Obviously the overlapped connections wanted their big horse to win, AND they didn't want it compromised by one of their other horses.

Parimutuel entries used to be the remedy for this, but now they have been largely dispensed of in favor of more wagering numbers.

But IF you're going to do that, then the results will be things like the July 25 opener at AsD. You either take one fork in the road, or the other, but you have no right to complain (as an association) when your choice leads to obvious results.

The first and last finishers on July 25 returned in a match race the other night and the original winner still trounced the other, again with a crawling early pace. This time there was no wagering.

An old guy like Singh probably didn't want to waste the energy or endure the hassle caused by the entirely stupid investigation into actions which could be understood in the broad context by anyone with any understanding of all things horse racing. And unlike some, Singh had other options.

And by the way, just how many races have you ever seen where it was later documented that they were fixed so that the favorites would run one-two-three?
