No, he didn't handle it well. He should have claimed that potentially 100 million Americans could die. Then he should have declared martial law and strip the 50 governors of all power. At this point the Democrats would have taken the opposite route, claimed the virus is overblown, the governors would have said Trump has no authority and they then would have publicly taken control and responsibility of their own states and Trump would have been off the hook.
