Yes, that's also good news. There's also another one from Janssen which has just begun clinical trials in the UK.
None of us yet know which of them are going to be most effective as they all seem to be different types. Hopefully one of them will be the real deal and will help us stop this horrible thing.
With the Oxford vaccine we have been told we could have the first phase of vaccinations done by Christmas with the rest of the population done by Easter. The government has purchased enough to vaccinate everyone in the UK and it seems that this is the one they are focusing on.
I am skeptical that in the long run we will get near 90% as cold and flu vaccines do well to achieve 50%. Hopefully though I will be wrong and we have to trust these very clever scientists and companies. All of them, from whichever company, have done a fantastic job to do things so quickly.
