I think you are looking at value from the lens of the two singles, whereas I have concluded that I would rather sacrifice the value on the two singles and look for the two best singles (assuming 2 good singles exist) let the carryover offset the lack of value and focus on playing the other 4 races well and long term extracting the value there.
