I think Baldwin is lying. I have a .357 S&W model 19-2 revolver. Looking down the barrel as I pulled the hammer back and watching cylinder position , not until the gun is fully cocked and locked would the bullet be aligned with the barrel, and the firing pin with the primer. Baldwin claimed the gun wasn't fully cocked.
The worst case scenario with what Baldwin said probably would have been a misfire that could injure the shooter. I think most likely nothing would happen, unless that prop gun is far different than mine. I don't think they make .45 caliber rim fire bullets, that I know of.
