According to Glenn Greenwald CNN has several former CIA and other intelligence people working for it. They have replaced actual journalists. So it's basically the propaganda arm of the left wing intelligence community. That's probably why it's so off limits.
I don't necessarily like all of O'Keefe's methods, but if you are an influential person, the price for exposing people on the left and telling the truth has become your personal or career destruction.
