Good question. "The
wasn't going to catch the top three" is one of the sillier defenses of a no-change that I have heard in quite a while. Well, no, not after the interference, he wasn't, but he outran the other two inside him down the stretch. He had a ground-saving trip behind the pacesetters, tipped out at the top of the stretch for clear sailing, and got bumped. Since when do we divine the outcome of races with an entire stretch yet to be run?
