"Parity" has become synonymous with the NFL.
However, since the league has evolved into more and more of a passing game, teams like the 2011 Ravens are outsiders to win the Super Bowl.
Flacco is a good QB, but in today's NFL the few teams whose quarterbacks can most exploit the rules have a huge advantage.
The top-heavy Packers look like the greatest TEAM of all time... , and the Ravens and Steelers look like(and are) outsiders.

Please send this to the 2005 Steelers and 2006 Giants I'm sure they will find it very informative. Roethlisberger (still isn't) and Manning ( now on the cusp maybe) surely weren't elite quarterbacks when they won. They did have very good defenses though.
The Packers while quite good last year without the aid a last second punt return wouldn't have qualified it was out of their hands.
Didn't I hear the same thing about the Colts and New England who both went on to lose their last Super Bowl appearance.
