I remember a couple years back, opening day at Santa Anita had a record crowd, sadly they didn't have enough staff to handle all those people that showed up and they made their displeasure known on social media. I'm sure this is the reason why they have no problem with attendance caps on a big day like the Breeders Cup. A miserable experience for the paying customer has long term repercussions. Even if the sport could use a huge infusion of paying customers on site.
