Good post...XLNT continuing topic...

There's always a "mystery" horse that the players are playing against. It's usually inflated by about 14-15% = another 6/1 shot in the race who isn't running.

I used it for many, many years. The beauty of the program is that it accepted either...

In California, for example, the takeout on win bets is 15.3%.

Therefore to begin making a morning line, 115.3% is the base number for the field. The factor of breakage is approximately 1% per...

should be in all bold face type just as the Works line.

In the Form's new version, the Closer Look type font is okay, but they made a bad choice but using light face, which doesn't jump out and...

Thanks for the kind words about Turfday...

I was the proud brainchild behind the concept. I am hoping that TwinSpires and/or Bris wants to work with me to revive it.

Your comments to them might help.

"Stuck" horses

Since entries in most places are taken far enough in advance, I found out the morning linemakers often get wind of horses that are "stuck." Trainers who entered their horse and would like to get out...

This was brought to my attention. I don't follow the handle on any circuit, let alone for comparative purposes. But I surely found this interesting and wanted to share it with the board.

I always thought that the bets within a race... win/place/show/exacta/trifecta/superfecta are horizontal bets and that the doubles, Pick 3's or Pick 4's (and Pick 5's and Pick 6's) are vertical bets....

He's one celeb that I can say I knew very, very well

I shared a box with John and Marty Ritt in the 80's at Del Mar. This is way before they remodeled Del Mar. Spent many an afternoon talking about just about everything. Owned a couple of horses...
