Who's Left?

The best of a promising 3yr old crop is all but gone now.

Early Voting - Preakness winner retired
Mo Donegal - Belmont winner retired
Epicenter - Travers winner retired (hopefully he will be okay after an injury in the Classic)
Who knows what the future holds for Jack Christopher, who has missed time due to injury and was withdrawn from Breeders Cup.
Not sure of the whereabouts of Zandon and Smile Happy.

Cyberknife, Nest, Taiba, and sprinter/miler types like Gunite & Echo Zulu may all return, hopefully.
Matareya ?
Annapolis & Moira come to mind in the turf division.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few good sophomores, but the second half of the year has been a let down for me.

Lava Man looked in good shape as a pony.
Maybe?? He still has a little in the tank?

Cyberknife isn't coming back.

Hey, you left off the winner of the 3yr old race that matters most--not to worry, Rich Strike will be back!

Cheers for Richard Dawson--thank goodness there's one Owner left in the game who can afford to be a Sport.

Rich Strike is evidence that if you want a horse who can actually put together a real career, you might start with a sire like Keen Ice who was himself sturdy enough to race 24 times, including 5 graded races as a 5-year old.

What is a real career?

Zandon is running in the Cigar Mile. This was announced after the PA Derby.

Wait...the 3yo crop was 'promising'?

I stopped watching after the 2021 BC Juvenile.

Forgot...unless he's retired...Charge It was very Flightline-like when beating a short, nameless field by daylight in the Dwyer.

They might have already syndicated him though after that Grade 3 race so wouldn't hold my breath for a return.

How would you know? - I thought you stopped watching after the 2021 Breeders Cup Juvenile

That's why I forgot that Charge It even existed.

What's your excuse?

How could you forget if you weren't watching in the first place?
We could do this all night

the little guy 11-07-2022 07:24 PM

Charge It could face off against Taiba in the race formerly known as the Donn. Todd said he was hoping to prep in a race like the Harlan's Holiday. I believe it when we see him.

Or you could just thank me for bringing up the 3yo who arguably registered the best single performance of the season.

But trying to take me to task for a bit of hyperbole is much more productive for a thread you started in the first place.

To be fair, your responses are leagues more appropriate than this trend of "BS" as a valid reply to somebody else's post.
